How time flies. The fact that we’re already in the middle of September is a testament to that. We were just celebrating New Year’s and now it’s Fall! It’s getting more than a little nippy as we near Christmas but before snow covers everything in white, it’s time for trees to take center stage.

Sometimes called the City of Trees, Boise boasts a beautiful fall season as the leaves turn, providing everyone with a glorious canopy of colors. Of course, the city, being filled with equally outstanding and talented people, there’s bound to be a lot of activities centered around this season. From family-friendly activities to those more of the spooky kind, there are a lot of things to do in Boise and its surrounding areas. Here are just some of them.

Family Funtime is always a great time

Let’s kick things off with some activities the whole family will enjoy like visiting a pumpkin patch.  The Lowe Family Farmstead is a perennial favorite when it comes to pumpkin picking and other activities. Their  2022 Fall Season opened on September 9 and will last until October 29th.

Other than picking pumpkins they also have hayrides, a corn maze, pony rides, and many more fun fall festivities sure to entice kids as well as mom and dad. Check out their website for more information.

Other great options are The Berry Ranch and Cabalo’s Orchard and Gardens

In speaking of gardens, visiting a flower farm is also an activity Boise offers. With so many farms and fertile land, flowers grow here in abundance. The Lowe Family Farmstead offers this as well but Blue Sky Farm specializes in it. Blue Sky Farm is now open for the season on Wednesdays 4pm-8pm, Fridays 4pm-8pm, Saturdays 9am-1pm.

The Idaho Botanical Gardens hosts a variety of annual events including the Fall Harvest Festival every Saturday in October. Activities include a Scarecrow Stroll, artisan vendors, food trucks, local beer and cider, and live music.

Oktoberfest Galore!

In speaking of beer and cider, along with fall comes Oktoberfest, and Treasure Valley has a beer festival or two that could stand up to the festivities in Munich where the festival originated.

After a 2-year break, the Eagle Food and Wine Festival will take place again this year. This is an event designed to help promote Idaho’s distinctive culinary identity and to celebrate what makes the community unique!

Along with this festival are the Old Boise Oktoberfest that will take over Downtown Boise with authentic German biers, food, live music, games, and many more. Prost! Oktoberfest will come with an authentic German cookout. Lastly we have Payette Brewing Oktoberfest. This will take 2 days and will come along with authentic Slavic competitions like
