Boise Idaho is full of lush green public parks for the community to gather on beautiful sunny days. There are so many in fact, it might be hard for you to choose which one you’d like to plan visit for your next outing. Not to worry, we’ve got you covered! We’ve highlighted some of our favorite parks and why they made it to our favorites list.

Ann Morrison Park 

Ann Morrison is one of the most popular parks in all of Boise. Altogether the park spans 153 acres and includes a wide array of outdoor activities. Here you’ll find bocce courts, horseshoe pits, a disc golf course, outdoor gym, sand volleyball courts, a playground, softball diamonds, soccer fields, football fields, a reservable picnic shelter, restrooms, and a 9-acre dog park surrounded by a dog-friendly pond. Yes, all of that in one park! As if we would need to convince you any further why this park made our list, the icing on the cake would be that it runs along the Boise River. If you’ve never been, Ann Morrison Park is a must-visit Boise destination! 

Kathryn Albertsons Park 

If you’re looking for a peaceful day in the park surrounded by beautiful nature and wildlife, look no further than Kathryn Albertsons Park. This 41-acre park has paths throughout for observing birds and other wildlife that frequent the area. Other features of the park include reservable sheltered areas and restrooms. This is one of the quietest and naturally beautiful parks in Boise making it a great choice if you're looking to unwind! 

Camel's Back Park & Reserve

Camel’s Back Park is located in Boise’s incredibly popular North End. The park itself features open play areas, an outdoor gym, a playground, tennis courts, volleyball courts, reservable picnic tables, and restrooms. One of the best parts about this park is its access to the Boise foothills. From the trailheads in Camel’s Back Park, you can get access to Camel’s Back Reserve, 63 acres of mild hiking trails with amazing views of the Boise cityscape. But wait, the hiking fun doesn’t stop there, Camel’s Back Reserve leads right into Hulls Gulch Reserve which is 292 acres of foothill trails. When you visit Camel’s Back Park one thing is for sure, your opportunities for outdoor adventure are endless! 

Esther Simplot Park (Quinns Pond)

This 55-acre park is right along the Boise River and includes 23 acres of swimmable ponds! This is one of the most popular spots for paddleboarding in the Boise area. Other features of the park include a playground, reservable sheltered areas, open grass fields, and restrooms. This park is also located directly across the river from some of the best breweries and wine tasting rooms in Garden City. 

Julia Davis Park 

If you’re looking for an easily accessible park right along the greenbelt and across the river from Boise State, this is the park for you. Whether your interests are fishing, birding, bocce, horseshoes, or tennis, you’re sure to find outdoor recreational fun at Julia Davis Park. This 43-acre park is the oldest park in Boise and it’s packed with history. Another big attraction that is conveniently located in the middle of this park is Zoo Boise where you can see a wide array of zoo animals.
